Draft 4 of my Music Video

• extend angel in bath and marina shot.(never let me go)
• Jodie singing on stage at beginning- correct.
• Correct beach and sunset with underwater scene overlapped.
• 3.44 secs. Change issy in background from jodie on stage to in backgreound of issy running out of water.

Other Filming

Morrocco
I wanted to take a beach landscape shoot, I visited Morrocco in March 2013 and decided to take a few clips of the sunset and sea as it was a perfect opportunity.

The shoot turned out to look quite good so I made the filming slower on the editing suite so that it would look more dreamy.

I actually filmed the sunset going down every 5 minutes for one hour and thought it would look good all put together on the editing suite after speeding up each clip. However this took up too much space in my video.

Lips Shoot

I decided that when the underwater clips were playing in my music video some of them carried on a bit too much so when the lyrics changed to chorus or became more upbeat I needed something layered over the top.

I filmed a girl in my media class, literally in the classroom half way through editing my video just singing the lyrics of the song. I then layered this over some of the underwater clips and decided it added extra richness to each underwater clip.

Eyes blinking shoot

I took a shot in the green room at college whilst in the process of editing. I used some harsh lighting and asked the model to blink, close her eyes and then open them again. I repeated this twice so that any mistaked could be rectified and then edited them on the editing suite to enhance the blue colour of the eyes. I decided that I needed this shoot for the end of the video when the actress is waking up out of her dream. I thought that the eyes opening would signify her waking up and reinforce the idea of it being a dream.

Filming Part 7: Welton Waters Jeti Shoot

 

 

For this shoot I wanted a shot of a girl Jumping into a lake of a Jeti, and some pre, shots of her running along the Jeti. I wanted to film 2 shots of her on the Jeti; once with the angel wings on and once without and the angel wings. To represent her 'changing'. I then wanted a shot of her jumping backwards into the water with her face directly at the camera so that I could reverse it on the editing suite and it would look as if she had jumped out of the water, then run back off the Jeti.

 

 

I will be using the Angel wings that I have used in the bath scene.

 

I visited Welton Waters twice it was an amazing location however because of the harsh winds and weather we have been faced with as it is not Summer, I was unable to get the model to jump in the water as it may have been an extreme danger hazard, the lake was very open and would have been hard to climb back up onto the Jeti as it was freezing after jumping in, I was concerned for the welfare  of the model.

 

I looked around for lakes around the North Cave area and found 3, 2 of them were privately owned so I had asked permission to use the lake and the owners explained that they did not want to be liable for any injuries. Therefore, I decided to use the lake that was abandoned, it proved to windy to use the angel wings again so I dressed the model in a white shirt. Because it was so cold I decided that instead of the model jumping in I would get her used to the water first so I asked her to walk slowly into the water whilst I filmed as it may be a useful shot. After she had walked in we decided that it was far too cold to jump in to. So I decided to use the shot of the girl walking into the water.

 

 

 

Draft 3 of my Music Video

This is the third draft of my Music Video. I will be filming the Welton Waters Lake Scene tonight to Finalise my music video and finish editing it on the editing suite tomorrow. I am happy with most of the editing techniques used I feel I have learnt sufficiently how to operate the editing suite and what different effects work best with my video considering the abstract genre.


Improvements I will be making to the video:

• Add Morrocco shoot at Beginning

• Film Welton Waters Shoot at 1.20 seconds LAKE SCENE

• More layering in Underwater Clips

• Lip sincs
