Timing - Break Down of Lyrics

Page 1

At the opening of the song there are 3 seconds before the vocals actually begin. I am hoping to begin my music video using still images/photographs in these 3 seconds as a representation of the story. Whilst timing the lyrics I realised that at the end of each line there is a piano beat so I thought each of these beats could represent also were I take each cut and edit. So that the song will match the video as it does with the existing music video for this song. Each line on the 1st page roughly lasts 2-4 seconds which means I would have to do roughly 2 cuts to each line.

For the 2nd page of lyrics, I have chosen to do a lot of underwater shots to fit the song, therefore I am going to need a lot more different shots taken in each line. I have decided to break each line up and place the cut depending on were the vocals are the strongest. If there is slight pause or breath taken in between lyrics I have also placed cuts.

The 3rd page is similar to the 2nd. The lyrics are quite strong and they are also broken up more. There is no particular beat at the end of each line as their is with the first set of lyrics. Again a lot of these shots are going to be taken underwater therefore they will be short and maybe repetitive.

In the last set of lyrics were the song draws to a close, the main vocals and backing words atre repeated using the title of the song, 'Never Let Me Go'. Wherever the emphasis on each word of the line is were I will cut the shot. The last two lines of the song are drawn out between 5 and 8 seconds meaning that I could fit a lot of shots into the last 2 lines of lyrics using montage.
                                                    'Oh, slipping underneath.
Oh, so cold, but so sweet.'
