I really like this idea, of how the photographs have been pre-taken before filming. I think it is a creative and abstract idea which catches the audiences eye because it is different. I may incorporate this idea into parts of my music video. I have also thought about taking a series of still images and and playing them at the beginning of my music video, to tell a pre-story.
The 2 videos above are montage pieces collaged together to create short storys. I have looked at these for the use of camera movement and shot styles used. I like how the close up of the actresses face is layered with the image of the trees and sky. So the audience can realise that she is layed on the ground looking up at the trees without being shown directly.
I like how the camera moves around the actresses face while she is layed still, this could represent that she is disorientated or lost.
I have looked at this video simply because it stuck out to me as being abstract and different, similar ideas to how I would like my music video to be created.
I love the idea of filming something simple and playing it backwards, this idea works well in this video and I like how the the object on fire is not revealed until the very end. This is a simple but effective form of editing which I hope to use in my music video.
I like this video because it is so heavily edited. I like the layers and collage used in this piece to create a surreal and abstract video.
Underwater Camera Influences
I am hoping to create some underwater movement pieces in my music video, I have found some clips on Youtube of girls dancing underwater. This has reinforced my ideas on the underwater filming and helped me realise what I will need to do to carry out this piece.
As my video will be about a girl entering a dreamworld and a lot of the lyrics in my chosen song seem to have a theme of water.
I have looked at this media text because of the materials used as the girl dances, this is a really simple but effective way of creating movement with colour underwater. I have realised that I will probably need the actress to dance underwater in my music video otherwise it would be quite boring.
I like how the girl places her hands on the water as if it is a piece of glass that she is trapped in, this video really encapsulate a beauty and elegance that I would like to include in my music video. It has been filmed in a dark setting which could have been edited to look like it is at the bottom of the ocean. Her costume- the white dress is made ffrom a floaty material, this looks really effective when the water runs through it. It creates a dreamy and magical piece of work.
This video has been heavily edited, it has been filmed then played backwards. This makes the video look as if she is struggling because of the sharp movements created by speeding the video up. Because it is an underwater piece there has been many shots taken to create the entire video. I like the way it slowly changes from black and white to colour I think this would look really effective if used in my music video. It almost represents the actress letting go and the life disappearing out of her. This may look effective cobined with the lyrics 'Never Let Me go' in my music video. I like the closeup shots of the girls hand, and the light reflections created on the water.
The costume for the underwater shots will be floaty, elegant material, as seen in the 2 videos above.
I have looked at Vogue Magazine for influences on Mise-en-scene
